Computing
At Moredon Primary & Nursery School, computing is an exciting and progressive subject that develops pupils’ digital literacy, computer science knowledge and information technology skills. Children have access to 50 iPads and a dedicated computing suite, enabling regular hands-on learning across the curriculum. Our computing curriculum is based on the NCCE Teach Computing Curriculum (https://teachcomputing.org/curriculum), which provides clear progression from EYFS to Year 6, although teachers adapt learning to meet the specific needs of their classes and pupils.
We place a strong emphasis on online safety, creativity, problem-solving and coding, ensuring children become confident, responsible and independent users of technology. Computing is regularly assessed, embedded across subjects where appropriate, and supports pupils in developing the skills needed for future learning and life in a digital world.
