In school

Our doors open at 8:30am daily. We use mindfulness mornings to allow the children a calm transition from home to school before lessons begin at 8:45am. Children are expected to some into school in full school uniform - a white shirt and Moredon tie, black trousers/skirt/shorts etc and a school jumper or cardigan. No jewellery or nail polish please. During the colder months, please ensure children have a coat for outside time and a healthy snack and a water bottle each day.
Children often opt to walk home alone from the classroom in Year 6. Mobile phones are permitted with parents' consent and need to remain off on school premises. Please give these in to Mrs Brasier-Ayres at the beginning of the day.

PE

6SBA's PE lessons are on Mondays and Thursdays. Children will need their full PE kit in school on these days – this consists of a white t-shirt, black shorts/joggers/leggings and a black jumper. Children will return home in their PE kit which will then need to be returned for the next PE lesson.

SATs

In 2026, the KS2 SATs will take place on the following dates:

Monday 11th May – English grammar, punctuation and spelling papers

Tuesday 12th May – English reading paper

Wednesday 13th May – Mathematics paper 1 (arithmetic) and paper 2 (reasoning)

Thursday 14th May – Mathematics paper 3 (reasoning)

Homework

Your child will be set homework every Friday. This will consist of:

  • Maths: a booklet which reflects on and reinforces the learning completed that week.
  • Reading: banded books brought home from school which need to be read 3 x a week and recorded into Reading Records for homework
  • Spellings: practise to be completed on Spelling Shed (logins provided)

Homework needs to be completed and returned by the following Thursday of each week for marking and feedback to be provided.
